Chickens 101 Class – April 9th

All you need to know about raising chickens – for the Backyard or Barnyard!

Brought to you by the WSU Small Farms Team, Chickens 101 leads aspiring chicken owners through the steps necessary to start a small (or large) flock of chickens.

Local poultry grower and KPGC member, Harley Soltes, shares tips and information on hatching, brooding chicks, breed selection, raising, housing, feeding, and managing pastured poultry and eggs at his Kingston Farm. He will also share information on marketing fresh poultry, selling eggs at market, and regulations for City of Bremerton residents wanting to legally keep a small flock of chickens.

Cost for the class is $35/ person or $50/ family. Discounted registration for Kitsap Poultry Growers Cooperative Members is $25. 4-H and FFA members free.

    Thank you for your comment! We will definitely publicize any classes that our members may be interested in. WSU Kitsap Extension offers the Chickens 101 class and many others like it.
